RETURN, REFUND & WARRANTY POLICY
Last Updated: August 2026
At Vikingo, we stand behind the quality and craftsmanship of our products. This Return, Refund & Warranty Policy applies to Vikingo products purchased by consumers in Canada.
This policy is intended to complement, and not replace, any rights or remedies available to consumers under applicable Canadian federal, provincial or territorial consumer protection laws.
1. 30-DAY RETURN POLICY
Vikingo voluntarily accepts eligible returns within 30 days from the date the customer receives the product.
To qualify for a return based on a change of mind, the product must:
-
be unused;
-
not have been exposed to fire, charcoal, food, grease or cooking;
-
be in its original condition;
-
include its original packaging, accessories, components and manuals; and
-
be accompanied by valid proof of purchase.
Products that have been assembled may still be reviewed for return eligibility provided they have not been used and can be returned safely in substantially original condition.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Vikingo reserves the right to reject change-of-mind returns that do not meet these conditions.
This voluntary 30-day return policy does not restrict any statutory rights applicable to defective, damaged, misrepresented or non-conforming products.
2. HOW TO REQUEST A RETURN
Before returning a product, customers must contact Vikingo Customer Service to request return instructions.
Please provide:
-
your order number;
-
your full name;
-
the product you wish to return;
-
the reason for the return; and
-
photographs of the product and packaging when requested.
Products should not be shipped back without first contacting Vikingo. Unauthorized returns may experience processing delays.
3. RETURN SHIPPING COSTS
For voluntary returns resulting solely from a change of mind, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs unless otherwise agreed by Vikingo.
Original shipping charges are non-refundable for voluntary change-of-mind returns, except where required by applicable law.
If the return results from:
-
an incorrect product sent by Vikingo;
-
a verified manufacturing defect;
-
damage occurring before or during delivery; or
-
another circumstance for which Vikingo is legally responsible,
Vikingo will provide an appropriate remedy and cover return transportation costs where required under this policy or applicable law.
4. PRODUCTS DAMAGED DURING SHIPPING
Customers should inspect their order as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
If a product arrives damaged, incomplete or with visible transportation damage, please contact Vikingo promptly.
To help us evaluate the issue, we may request:
-
the order number;
-
photographs of the external packaging;
-
photographs or video showing the damage;
-
photographs of the product and affected components; and
-
a brief description of the issue.
Customers should retain the original packaging while the claim is being reviewed.
Nothing in this section limits any rights available under applicable consumer protection legislation.
5. THREE-YEAR LIMITED COMMERCIAL WARRANTY
Vikingo products are covered by a three (3) year limited commercial warranty from the original date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use.
During the applicable warranty period, if a product is determined by Vikingo to have a manufacturing defect, Vikingo may, as appropriate:
-
repair the defective product or component;
-
replace the defective component;
-
replace the product with the same or an equivalent product; or
-
provide another remedy where required by applicable law.
This commercial warranty is provided in addition to any statutory or legal warranties that may apply in the consumer's province or territory.
6. WHAT THE COMMERCIAL WARRANTY COVERS
The Vikingo limited commercial warranty covers manufacturing defects affecting the normal operation or structural integrity of the product, including, where applicable:
-
manufacturing defects in the barrel body or structural components;
-
defective welds attributable to manufacturing;
-
manufacturing defects in components supplied as part of the original product; and
-
defects that prevent the product from performing its intended function under normal use.
Warranty coverage applies to the original purchaser and requires reasonable proof of purchase.
7. WHAT THE COMMERCIAL WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Vikingo commercial warranty does not cover damage resulting from:
-
normal wear and tear;
-
misuse, abuse, negligence or improper handling;
-
failure to follow Vikingo's assembly, operation, maintenance or cleaning instructions;
-
accidents, impacts, falls or transportation damage occurring after delivery;
-
unauthorized modifications or repairs;
-
use of the product for purposes other than those for which it was designed;
-
exposure to corrosive substances, chemicals or improper storage conditions;
-
cosmetic changes caused by normal exposure to heat, fire, smoke or cooking;
-
stains, discoloration, soot, grease accumulation or changes in the appearance of stainless steel resulting from normal use;
-
oxidation, corrosion or deterioration caused by inadequate cleaning, improper storage, excessive moisture or exposure to aggressive environmental conditions, except where such condition results from a manufacturing defect; or
-
consumable items or components subject to normal deterioration through use.
Normal colour changes caused by exposure of stainless steel to high temperatures are considered a normal characteristic of the material and are not, by themselves, considered a manufacturing defect.
Nothing in this section excludes or limits any warranty, condition, right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable Canadian law.
8. WARRANTY CLAIMS
If you believe your Vikingo product contains a manufacturing defect, please contact Vikingo Customer Service and provide:
-
proof of purchase;
-
order number;
-
photographs and/or video of the issue;
-
a description of the problem; and
-
information about how and when the issue occurred.
Vikingo may request additional information reasonably necessary to assess the claim.
Where appropriate, Vikingo may provide troubleshooting instructions before determining whether repair, replacement, replacement parts, refund or another remedy is appropriate.
Nothing in this process limits remedies otherwise available under applicable law.
9. REFUNDS
Once an eligible return has been received and inspected, Vikingo will notify the customer regarding the outcome of the return.
If approved, the refund will generally be issued to the original method of payment.
Please note that processing times may vary depending on the customer's bank, credit card company or payment provider.
Original shipping costs are generally non-refundable for voluntary change-of-mind returns, except where required by applicable law.
Where a refund is required under applicable consumer protection legislation, Vikingo will process the refund in accordance with the applicable legal requirements.
10. NON-RETURNABLE ITEMS
Except where prohibited by law or where a statutory right or warranty applies, the following may not qualify for voluntary change-of-mind returns:
-
products returned more than 30 days after delivery;
-
products that have been used for cooking;
-
products exposed to charcoal, fire, smoke, grease or food;
-
products damaged through misuse or improper handling;
-
products missing essential components or accessories;
-
personalized or specially customized products; and
-
products marked as final sale, where permitted by law.
These exclusions do not apply where doing so would limit a consumer's mandatory statutory rights.
11. ACCESSORIES AND REPLACEMENT PARTS
Accessories and replacement parts purchased separately are subject to the same 30-day voluntary return conditions unless otherwise stated.
Components showing a manufacturing defect may be covered by Vikingo's commercial warranty or applicable statutory warranties.
Items subject to normal wear may have different expected service lives depending on their nature and use.
12. PROOF OF PURCHASE
To process a voluntary return or commercial warranty claim, Vikingo may request reasonable proof of purchase, such as:
-
an order confirmation;
-
invoice;
-
receipt; or
-
other documentation identifying the purchase.
Statutory rights remain subject to the evidentiary requirements and protections established by applicable law.
13. CANADIAN CONSUMER RIGHTS
Consumers in Canada may have additional rights under applicable federal, provincial and territorial consumer protection and sale-of-goods legislation.
Depending on the province or territory, goods sold to consumers may be subject to statutory or implied conditions and warranties, including requirements that goods be of acceptable or merchantable quality, reasonably durable, fit for their intended purpose and consistent with their description.
These rights exist independently of Vikingo's three-year commercial warranty.
Accordingly, the expiration of Vikingo's commercial warranty does not necessarily mean that a consumer has no further legal rights or remedies.
Québec Consumers
For purchases subject to the Consumer Protection Act (Québec) and the Civil Code of Québec, legal warranties provided by law apply automatically and without additional charge.
Among other protections, goods must:
-
be fit for the purpose for which goods of that kind are ordinarily used;
-
have a reasonable lifetime, considering their price, the terms of the contract and the conditions of use;
-
be free from hidden defects; and
-
conform to the description contained in the contract, advertising and representations made by the merchant or manufacturer.
These legal warranties apply independently of Vikingo's three-year commercial warranty.
Nothing in this policy is intended to restrict or waive any rights granted to Québec consumers by law.
14. ONLINE PURCHASES
Purchases made through Vikingo's Canadian online store are also subject to applicable provincial or territorial consumer protection requirements governing online or distance contracts.
Nothing in this policy limits a consumer's statutory right to cancel an online agreement where such a right exists under applicable provincial or territorial legislation.
15. LIMITATION OF THIS POLICY
This policy establishes Vikingo's voluntary return procedures and commercial warranty.
It does not exclude, restrict, waive or replace any mandatory warranty, condition, right or remedy provided under applicable Canadian federal, provincial or territorial law.
If any provision of this policy conflicts with a mandatory consumer protection requirement, the applicable legal requirement will prevail.
